Bridging young talents to the global stage: Future Leadership Club launched in London

The world is evolving rapidly, making it crucial to equip the younger generation with the skills to navigate the future while fostering a global perspective and a strong sense of social responsibility. Recently, a group of young professionals established the “Future Leaders Club”, which held its inaugural ceremony at the Oxford & Cambridge Club in London. Under the theme “Night of Leadership · Light of the Future”, the event gathered distinguished representatives from the education and cultural sectors in both China and the UK. Attendees explored emerging leadership trends, cross-cultural exchange, and international collaboration, fostering deeper dialogue and cooperation between the two nations.

During the event, guests shared their insights on key leadership qualities, including courage, resilience, wisdom, and empathy. They encouraged young people to continuously enhance their skills, embrace cultural diversity, and cultivate a well-rounded skill set.

“Kaifeng Kang, former Global Vice President of McKinsey & Company, delivered an inspiring career coaching session for graduates preparing to enter the workforce. As a digital transformation expert, he explored diverse career pathways and emphasized that career choices should not be limited by one’s academic major. Kang encouraged young professionals to stay open-minded, seize opportunities, and take charge of their own growth. He also highlighted the importance of networking, advising them to actively participate in industry events, engage with experienced professionals, and cultivate long-term connections through social platforms to enhance their career prospects.”

“Baroness von Kohorn, founder of the Institute of British Culture, was dedicated to promoting British royal and international business etiquette while fostering cross-cultural dialogue between Chinese and British enterprises, educational institutions, and cultural organizations. She emphasized integrity, communication, adaptability, humility, and cross-cultural understanding as key leadership qualities.

Patrick Derham OBE, former headmaster of Westminster and Rugby Schools, has championed educational equity for 24 years. He views education as not only a means to gain knowledge but also a vital tool for shaping character and leadership. He urged young people to explore the unknown, enhance cultural awareness, and develop a global perspective to anticipate future trends.

Robin Southwell OBE, former CEO of Airbus UK, is a leading figure in the aerospace and defence sectors, recognized for his leadership and innovation. He stressed that future success will depend on cross-industry collaboration and technological integration. Amid rapid AI advancements and growing global competition, he encouraged young people to expand their thinking, embrace innovation, and align with globalization trends to seize opportunities.

Gracie Chen, founder of the Future Leadership Club, is a Cambridge University mathematics graduate with extensive experience in educational planning and global asset management. She has significantly contributed to building international educational platforms and supporting young professionals’ growth. In 2023, she was recognized with the Tencent News Education Industry Role Model Award.
