Further to expand the breadth and depth of cooperation between China Liaoning Province and the UK trade and business partnership, to improve the level and quality of cooperation, China’s Liaoning-UK Economic and Trade Cooperation Promotion Conference was held in London recently.

The governor of Liaoning Province Tang Yijun said at the conference that Liaoning has become a popular city for investment from home or abroad. In the first quarter of this year, the actual use of the province and foreign investment increased by 27%, and 136 new foreign-invested enterprises were established in increasing of 36% compared with previous year.  We look forward to working with British friends to seize the moment, face to tomorrow, and share the great opportunity of Liaoning’s revitalization and development in the new era. Mr Tang added, he expected to strengthen further exchanges for personnel, key industries, and culture collaborations between two countries.

Chen Wen, a senior officer from the Chinese embassy in the UK, said Liaoning has achieved fruitful results for trade cooperation with the UK partnerships in recent years. The two sides have continuously expanded cooperation in the fields of manufacturing, new energy, science and technology, education, etc., and the construction of China-UK (Dalian) advanced manufacturing industry demonstration zone has been steadily advanced. Looking ahead, we are full of confidence in deepening friendly exchanges and cooperation between Liaoning and the UK.

Matthew Rous, president of the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC), delivered a warm speech on behalf of the CBBC. He started in fluent Chinese and extended cordial greetings to the delegation of the Liaoning Provincial Government and the guests. Mr. Rous said that the UK-China Business Council has a history of 65 years in promoting trade and cooperation between two nations. Many members of CBBC have close contacts with Liaoning Province. He believes this event will effectively enhance the bilateral trade and economy relationship towards further progress of development in the UK
